Hey Guys, Just got back from Deal's Gap this past week-end. We actually got there Thursday evening 9/13, but it was almost dark. Then it rained heavy all day long (remnants of Hurricane Humberto) but Saturday and Sunday were beautiful. We rode several outlying areas (Cherahala Skyway, Cashiers and Franklin, NorthCarolina, etc) on Saturday then the Dragon on Sunday 9/16. I'm telling you the Dragon is a joke now. It's a freaken circus jammed with bikes, cars, cops, etc. I rode to the end and back and I'm not kidding, my average speed was about 15-20mph. (speed limit is 30) It's like riding in a parade! It has become way too popular for its own good. I've ridden it many times before and everytime it has been a little busier than the last, but I'm pretty much done with it now unless it is a weekday out of season. There was an FJ group up there this weekend. A couple I ride w\were there.

Great to hear of the trip to the gap. If at all possible, can you tell me where you got the seat for your blackbird. Been looking for a while. Thanks, Flylow |

Nice writeup. We go on the 20th. Shame to hear about the Gap. I was hoping that the craziness would have passed by now. I know many of other good roads, so I guess I will be riding them. |
