Sorry Shewie, I feel for you lot that are snowed in, But Spring is just round the corner and you will be riding again,

I envey you lot with your magnificent scenery, We dont have that here,

I am just trying to get a few Birds from here out on a ride,
Its listed on netrider and Facebook as well.

We can only try. They have a track day at Broadford here tomorrow as well.
But I dont do track work, Its boring going round in circles.
I prefer to take my chances coming round a hairpin and finding a tree or a 4X4 or Timber Jinker on my side of the road, and the animals leaping out of the bushes, Hahahahahahaha or riding on melted tar from the heat, It puts life into the ride.
Cheers,
Brian.

Oh, that's okay deadman. I'm just whining 'cause I'm slobbering at the thought of 260kms of "very technical mountain twisties". I can't think of a better way to use up a few hours.

Have fun!

I will.
Shame I cant get my video's up, there magic, great sound as I am changing gear throught the twisties or rolling on and off in second gear,
My internet speed is crap. Min 2 hours to upload a 10 minute video and then it drops out, Too expensive to get a higher internet speed,

Must admit, we do have great roads here for bikes. other than the Black and Reefton spurs which are my local roads. But too many wallet emptiers and go straight to jail, fun eliminators.
East of here are the Snowy mountain ranges, crammed full of magic bike roads. about 300 miles to the coast from here, 200 miles wide, about 15 roads all up. with good bitumen and tight twisties for mile after mile. very little traffic,

Well you got me there, Thats one of the few roads I dont think I have been on, Been on most of them around there tho. Over the years,
Goes out to Bendemeer and the old road through the Moonbie ranges, that was a good road till they put the bypass in.
Have a good ride,

Have a good ride,

WTF, you've never ridden the Oxley, I rate it in the top 5 rides in Oz, 60kms of mountain range, good surface, stunning scenery, corner after corner.

I would recommend riding it at least once if your ever north of Sydney.

Moonbi range is still a good little road, especially the climb, the RTA have ruined the down side and made it into a strait all the way down with a cop permanently at the bottom...its a joke.

Re: ride sat 13 Feb

Well I am gonna rub it in, I do feel cheated tho. 380 instead of 450 klms, came home the short way as a filthy black cloud was closing in, same cloud that flooded Brisbane and every where else over the last couple of days here,
Went out through the Reefton Spur and then to Eildon and across to Jamieson, 120 klms return of grouse twisty road, I passed two cars on the way there and two walkers, coming back I passed two walkers and no cars,, different ones this time, I got a punture going across the dirt section, Kangol came in very handy, but it did not seal the leak, had enough air to get me slowly to a servo, 30 klms away, the Bird handles like a pig with a half flat rear tire, wallows like a beached whale, and the steering is very heavy, got the punture fixed with some glue added, Had a beer at the Brewery and waited to make sure the tyre was going to stay up. then I came back the same way, what a ride, on a deserted twistie road designed just for a bike to scream down, No cobwebs on me or the moped now, I took a 21 minute video on the way out there, it would have been more, but the card ran out, Grouse video, I dont have the servor speed to upload it, Must do it again before they make the 15 klm dirt section later this year, then it will have traffic and the man on it, couple of cars on the Reefton and only one group of bikes, Thats about 50 klms long, Very strange, not one copper any where on it, its usually crawling with them, the roads were all perfect, start of the Jamieson road they were scraping the bank on one side, bit of dirt and gravel on the road., but not much. a bit of bark and a few trees that had fallen and been removed, No one turned up so I went on my own, Had a ball, Didnt have to wait for any body, Came back through the black Spur,
Mr plod was evident in their unmarked cars, so I kept to the speed limits,
8 hours all up return, Thats the way I like to ride, No restrictions, and no animals either, Plenty of road kill every where else tho, Top day, I will carry glue from now on,
I hope you like my story,
Cheers,
Brian,

I only ride or drive on those northern NSW roads going to Queensland, I rode the Queensland roads when I lived up there and was on a working holiday, Nrth NSW I choose different roads each time I go through, That way I get to see them all. But I havent been on all of them, and they are too far away for a weekend jaunt, Love the roads around Niminby, Sunshine coast hinterland, Glass house Mountains, The whole east coast of OZ is great, there are good roads every where, I cant be on all of them, Putty road, Memorys,
Cheers,
Brian,

Excellent ride, no cars, no people, no animals, 120 klms of perfect bike road,
15 klms of dirt in the middle, except for a puncture on the dirt, Had a blast.
I did it twice, thats how good it was.
