that's near me...i might check it out Can a wear wear a T Shirt saying Blair is a Kernob ! plz Being in the forces is an easy ride most times.....but then when the bullets fly its as real and hardcore as it gets "I personally think you got too be a mug to join the forces...get spat at,shot at, or have yer legs blown off by a road side bomb.....then i remember if no one else was doing the dirty work I would have too...so for this they get my total respect and support" Few Civilians have any idea the kind of crap you have to deal with in a warzone, for many the mental scars are the hardest to bear. The soldiers you see in your local pub , seem like thugs when they are blowing of steam and get out of order. But with an SA80 in their hand under the command of their officers they are rightly feared and respected by any who would do us harm Gentle folk sleep peacefully in their beds at night because somewhere in the world someones son or daughter is taking a bullet on their behalf. I only wish the politicians would heed the advice of Military advisers & let those who know best fight the wars. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Me ? Im just an armchair general and military historian...yeah i played airsoft a few times for kicks yeah its just a game but the 1 hit and your out brings a sense of realism to it (airsoft aint paintball, thats for kids) I can tell you i spent most of the time chewing dirt & pooping my pants....playing airsoft with crack players it makes you realise just how easy it is to take a life or lose yours. It gave me a whole new level of respect for the boys & girls doing it for real thats for sure Just how the flock we got mixed up in Iraq & Afghanistan in THE WAY WE DID ill never know Even with Blairs head up Bushes butt...i still feel the top Military Brass has some serious questions to answer. Iraq and Afghanistan are huge countries...with very different history, landscape and culture to or own....its a bit too late to start dishing out copies of laurence of arabia at this stage in the game The "Finding out book of Battles" i read when i was 8 years old might be a better primer Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it Last edited by TESLACOIL; 02-04-2010 at 7:34 PM. |
