You could try the Honda Owners Club , they may know if there are specific clubs in specific areas.

Re: Blackbird owners clubs

Hello Stephen
I am not aware of a Blackbird Owners club in Scotland, but there may be an Internet based club for exchanging information and organising events etc.
The Honda Owners Club(GB) is the oldest one make Japanese club, formed in 1961 catering for ALL Hondas. We are a social road riding club with branches throughout England and Wales (unfortunately none in Scotland)
For much more information visit our web site www.hoc.org.uk
If you feel that starting a club just for Blackbird owners would be viable, why not open it to all Honda Owners and become our 'Scottish Branch', with all our organisational back up.
As you can see, I have copied our Chairman, Secretary, Webmaster and Editor in my reply.
Regards,
Graham Gull,
Membership Secretary,
Honda Owners Club(GB)

Ok so the way I see it there are a few options,
1) Start a HOC scotland branch.__ Im not qualified or experienced enough for that.
2) Start a Blackbird owners club and affiliate with HOC__. Viable and might be do able.
3) Keep it informal with maybe the odd few meets arranged by e-mail and phone, Less complicated of the options, and might be a starting idea.
Anyone have any ideas or views on this?

Re: Blackbird owners clubs

Hi, would be interested in the third option. Dont have time to be involved in running a club other than phone/email etc. Cheers, J

Re: Blackbird owners clubs

Space I know you are in Scotland, but the only info I could fine for the closest club to you is B.I.R.D out of England. It stands for "Blackbird International Riders Domain". Click the link.

Re: Blackbird owners clubs

Hi There,

Thanks for the link.......

Sent a message back on the PM mate also my e-mail......

Read this wee bit of forum its good to see some intertest and that we are not to far away.

It would be good to have some rideouts and some regular meets...

I think it would be a good idea to become the Scottish Branch of B.I.R.D.. if this was possible......they seem to have some good organised meets ( check out there website).

May be meeting them half way once everything was organised.

Open to suggestions.

Will also be happy with anything lower key.........

Will keep in touch to see what happens...

Regards to you all.

Colin........

Re: Blackbird owners clubs

Hi Guys, we have a Blackbird Association in South Africa. It is not a club in terms of paying members, but members register when joining. We then have a database with all contact details. Our website at Blackbird Association of SA and our forum at Blackbird Association of SA :: Index is where we hang out. Our members are from all parts of South Africa, and we get together on weekends for rides in the various regions. Once a year we have a national gathering, this year it will be in October (spring) at a place called Aliwal North which is fairly central in the country. The whole association kinda grows by word of mouth although we do stick an advert in the local bike magazine from time to time. We got started in August 2006 and currently have in excess of 600 active members. I can't wait for the day when we see 600 "birds" parked in a row at our national gathering. What a sight!!
The reason why we have specifically steared away from a formal club is because then you need a constitution which means rules and nothing kills something quicker than rules, so we are a completely free spirited crowd, you ride when you can, you meet up when you can and we share info as much as possible with each other. Shout if you need any help.

When you have a site like this, what do you really need a club for? ....

Re: Blackbird owners clubs

im guessing that as blackbird bikes are thinly spread, forums are the halfway house

u can drive 150 miles in the pouring rain to a car meet, less fun on a bike and a small casual event may be called off if the weathers bad

check the uk blackbird forums , may be an annual bird meet
