hi every one , sorry for my ''school'' english, i don t speak often english... I need your help , i fly with my bird since 2005, more than beautiful 100 000 kms with her but it start to be a little bit boring , 180 hp din count with dyno ... Before the bird i was riding my old ''granny'', a GSX 1100 R 92' nothing to compare but each riding needed bravour and agility...same power as the bird , when ever the bird is faster it s not the same feeling so my real question, as any one around me get a ZX12 R, did you one day ride a ninja differences ? Favorite one? Feeling to compare with my bird , if i change for a ninja will i regret ? Help me, all ever you can say could make me the right choice ... Thanks

the kawa has more power in the upper rev area. engine? weight? i dunno, but i do know that the zx12r is no touring torpedo like the bird. the suspension is too hard for my taste and my 186cm do not like the seat and it´s position.
get one for a weekend and see for yourself.

NO, I don't think you should, you'll regret it. Get another style bike as a second.

If you're jumping ship you'd better make it to a ZX-14, not a 12 if you're looking for a marked difference.

think u gotta do what your heart and head tell you mate then its your choice, thats my adice, i have had many different bikes and ive got another blackbird because my wife feels good on the back, im sure you will come to get the bike that suits you .....shane1964

I used to have a zx12, and it was a great bike. Its got a LOT of power everywhere throughout the rev range. Mine was dynoed @ 175 with a akra full system & pc. There is no doubt that its faster than a bird. I didnt find it very comfortable though but I am a fairly large person. It also gets horrible mileage. Rarely did I see more than 200 kms from a tank... I guess it depends on what you want out of your bike. If you just wanna go fast, the 12 will do it. I know how you feel about getting bored with a bikes power, but I dont know if the 12 will be that much of a step up from a bird in that regard. Maybe the zx14 is the way to go.

The ZZR1200 would be more in line with what the Blackbird offers. They were made from 2002-2005. They are the kinder, gentler ZX-12R or a slimmed-down Concourse with anger-management issues, to quote and article I have posted on my cube wall.
