I have a '99 CBR 1100XX with about 18K miles. I purchased the bike at 14K miles at which time the bike needed some serious TLC. The previous owner had the bike for a year and had only painted it. He hadn't chainged the oil once! After I purchased it, I did a valve adjustment, a coolant exchange, a oil change, a clutch and brake fluid drain, fill and bleed, a front brake pad install ( EBC HH ), new tires, a new EK ZZZ chain and new sprockets ( front sprocket reduced one tooth), a K & N air filter, A PC III USB install, a new Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and new Knock sensor install, a new high-pressure fuel line (leaking original) and finally a new double green dot Cam Chain Tensioner. This was all done at about 14K miles. I now have about 18K miles and the chain buzzes just like before I replaced the CCT! I have ordered the "new and improved" X-11 tensioner mentioned on this site and I will install it as soon as it comes in. I say all of this because I was speaking with JohnXX and he said that it was remarkable how quickly the new CCT tension wore out! I will update this site as to my experiences with the new CCT when I get it installed.
