Re: Which oil do you use?
Well IMHO all this talk of not running fully synthetic oil in the Bird is absolute bollocks.
I changed to Silkolene Race fully synthetic oil at 9,000kms. My bike has now done 53,000kms with absolutely no problems at all. Doesn't burn a drop of oil between changes and gear changes are smooth and precise.
Crock of shit if you ask me.

Re: Which oil do you use?
I ride my BB pretty much from -7ºC (20ºF) to 38ºC (100ºF) what weight oil should I be using. I am going with a fully synthetic oil becuase I have just over 8K miles on it. but wasnt sure what I should be running weight wise. I live in northeast ohio and also ride in florida during christmas and summer. I ride as long as rides are clean and dry. -7ºC is coldest I have riden in during winter.

Re: Which oil do you use?
I am NOT trying to stir the pot here but why does Jaws in the UK recommend NOT using full synthetic? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Jaws one of the best wrenches when it comes to Blackbirds?

I believe that a few years back there was a "bulletin" put out by Honda UK or Honda Europe that "full synth" oils were not recommended for use in the BB due to problems with the engine bedding in properly and clutch slip
Possibly the newer oils are better and because they don't have friction modifiers in them they can be used now but I believe that is what he has based his recommendations on
