Howdy,

I just had the valves inspected on my 2000 blackbird. Again they needed no adjustment and I asked why not. He said riding this bike at average speeds or even higher than average dosnt really wear on this motor. kicking it up to 10,000 rpms on a regular basis that will affect it but as we all know these things are missles above 7,000 rpm,s . In fact that with 36,000 miles on my bike it still has not had any shims added or replaced just a little fyi for you folks. He said to bring it back to get it checked at 50k so we will see what it needs then.

Francis

Makes me feel better about my decision to have the clearances checked at 50K miles, for the first time!

I'm almost at 20,000, so this makes me think I'll skip unless some tapping develops.......

Good to know. My Speed Triple is pretty finicky about its valves at 12K intervals. Sounds like Honda quality prevails!
