it will bolt on directly but the tube pairings are different in carbed models (1-2 3-4) than the efi models (1-4 2-3 )..this will give your engine a rather rough performance since the efi models are designed to perform better with the (1-4 2-3 ) pairing..

It will also move the power further up the rev range. I put '99 headers on my carbed '98 bird some years ago.

The cans are the same, except that more recent models have cats. I currently have the non cat '98 cans from my carbed 'bird on my '07 'bird. Straight swap and much less chance of the kids getting burned by brushing against the mid pipes when I get home from work. (Take a trip to the burns ward of a kids hospital for all the motivation you need there...) And I don't have a garage to lock it in & keep them out after getting home.

Sounds like its not a good idea. Any other helpful info?

How difficult is it to find later model FI exhaust? I have a single two brothers on the Bird I just picked up and I would like to go back to duals - probably with some slip on cans.

I am running a 97 with injection stainless down pipes as the 97 downpipes rot like hell used 2 sets before getting the injection ones. I also have carbon slippons which dont get hot even standard 97 endcans get hot.
