97 Bird. I was wanting to put titanium Two Brothers slip ons on my 97 Bird (with carbs of course), currently with stock air filter. Are there any issues with me doing this. Will I have to re-jet it ? What if I put in a K & N air filter with the two Brothers slip ons, will I have to re-jet then? I might use that other brand of air filter, other than the K & N, I cant remember the name right now. Any other thoughts.
I have not done this yet as I did not want top mess with my reliability. Will adding slip one and maybe a air filter upgrade jack with my reliability?
Thanks again.

I'm putting Two Bros slip ons on my '98 this weekend hopefully. It is my understanding that slip ons will not affect the way the bike runs. I'm running a stock filter. If you put a full 4 to 1 system on them (any year), then a re-jetting or re-mapping is required. Can't wait to hear mine. I say go for it. Cheers.

I installed some some slip ons about a month ago with a stock air cleaner and my 2003 runs fine. I love the deeper sound and resulting weight saving. Feels like it runs better but that's more than likely just in my mind.

Slap em on with no fear. You might get a couple of ponies out of it but a good jet kit will get you where you really want to be with it.

I've been running TB C5 Tit slip ons for 6 years. No repacking yet. I do however have a PC iii and K&N and had it dynoed. Weight saving is substantial and not too loud at idle and a wonderful roar at 7,000 rpm. 110,000 kms on these pipes.

i have a full 4-2-1 yoshi rs-3 pipe on my '97 and port/polished heads (intake and exhaust) and run a stock filter, K&N was giving it too much air than it liked. it took me some tweeking to get it jetted right, but since then i havent messed with it at all. it's been almost 2 years and many 1000+ rides and it's never let me down or anything.

so dont worry about it man.

also, dont be afraid to learn how to jet your bike if you dont know how...
