97 Bird, with 22,000 miles. I have used conventional Honda 10/40 with regular changes. Can I go to a synthetic blend, or even full synthetic? Does it have to be Honda-NO.
Or would you just stay with fossil 10/40 oil?
I read the thread on 500 mile break in, with NO synthetic to be used. thanks.

I use the Honda HP 10/40 exclusively. I'm an advocate of using alot of OEM parts and fluids. The manufacturer usually knows best. Personal preference is key in your decisions, everybody will have an opinion on these sort of questions. There is alot of useful info on this site if you do a search. There is also a downloadable service manual on the site for the carbie bikes. Cheers.

I generally use a Motul semi or full synth 10/40. I had 194,000km on my last BB before it was killed by WRB. No signs of any engine issues there.

*spot on, fully synthetic is too light and it will only mean you will have to change the oil more often and it cost much more than 10/40 semi synthetic

Amsoil, Luca, Royal Purple, Mobil, and Motul synthetic oils are all good choices. The oil debate rages on about which is best so you decide what you think is best. I will probably go to Royal Purple and stay with it.
