Do the new mid pipes come with one of these or does the center stand bang up against it and make noise and cause damage?? Cheers.
Just replaced my stock pipes with some Viper slip ons. The left can came with a tap that the stock rubber bumper sliped into. The Vipers sound great with a nice low rumble between 2500 to 3000 rpm and weigh a lot less. They also seem to run a lot cooler that the stock ons.

Oh yea..... one word of advice when you finally get your slip-ons.... Put your pipe on the chain side on first and align the mid pipe so the bumper will catch the center stand. these things can be a mutha to line up correctly with each other.

Thanx for the info and heads up, I don't know what I would do without my center stand. It's nice to have it right there when you need it. Cheers.

My dad and I both put Vance & Hines CF slip ons on our '99 XXs back in '99 or '00. Sound is great without being annoyingly (loud pipes piss of the cagers and have not been found to save lives-riding like you're invisible saves your life) loud. My friend with a Turbo 'Busa loves the sound of my bike.

Originally we tried Yoshimura slip-ons, but they fit like total shit so we sent them back.

My .02,
ominousone

Keep in mind that our's were 9 years ago (I can't believe I've had a XX for 9 years). As I recall, they slipped on OK, but at least one side did not clear the swingarm, no matter what angles and ****ing around I did. I was fortunate to be able to send both pairs back, enabling me to get the V & H, which have given years of perfect fit, looks, and function.

Keep us posted how they work for you. Hopefully they have been improved.

GL,

GL,

just fitted the yoshi's, they sound awsome, i love them
as for clearing the swing arm i wonder did you place the bracket on the inside or the outside of the rear foot peg hanger, because the stock ones are on the inside so thats where i placed the yoshi's, and this gave the same problem so i looked at it for a while then decided to read the instructions.
After reading the instructions realised that the exhaust bracket goes on the outside of the footpeg bracket, after this it just needed a little upward psessure for the holes to line up.

And for anyone else wondering the yoshi pipe is listed only to fit up to 2002 model, but i have just installed it on my 2005 model with minimal fuss

Keep in mind that my issues were 9 years ago. But I remember that they didn't work right either way. I may have been able to wrestle them on with the brkt on the outside, but there was some problems with that as well. I had to send them back.,To Yosh's credit, they did send my money back, although they were kind if dicks about it. Dad and I could not be happier with the V & H slip ons.

I'm glad they worked for you. There's no excuse for shitty fitting, expensive, stuff, especially slip ons. A couple pix of the Yosh's would be cool.

Take care,
ominousone

Yup, my V & H sound so nice, even my buddy (who has turbo Busa-holy shit is that thing fast!!) loves the sound. Only loud when you get on it, reasonably quiet in the neighborhood.
