I know that this issue has been beat up more than a few times but I'm looking at putting some slip ons on my '98. I see after extensive searching on the net the few that I'm looking at are: Yoshi RS-3's, Scorpion's, and the D&D slip ons. One question I have is, are the Scorpions the only ones that don't require repacking?? I have found some sound bites on You-Tube and heard the D&D, a little loud, the Yoshi's sound good, can't find any Scorpions though. I see on the forum that a lot of you 'birdies like the Scorpions. I guess that I'm looking for some different input here, I'm looking for some sound, not just for me but so the cagers hear me, and something that I don't have to fuss with very much. Any and all input is welcomed and appreciated. Cheers.

It looks like I'm going on the "ride for kids" in the morning. Then possibly riding over to Wasco to check out a bike show. If your free give me a call tomorrow to see where I'm at. Possible rain in the afternoon. Would like to check out your 'bird. Cheers.

I have a set of Staintunes on my '98. I just removed the small rear baffles and WOW. Sounds like heaven. Still only 94 db, but really sounds awesome. I'm sure Staintunes are available State side. Best of.

I found a site yesterday morning that has the Staintunes for $540, is that a good deal?? I think I'm leaning towards these. Cheers.

I think there is something goofy about that site, when I went to the checkout page the price jumped to $989. I e-mailed them but haven't gotten a response. I'm still looking for the right pipes with the right price. Cheers.

The Scorpions are good quality pipes with no repacking required. The sound is a good low rumble and not too offensive but pretty loud when you open her up. I got my oval CF set for $570 off Ebay.

Shop around... you can get you a good set in the 450-600 dollar range
