A Japanese friend of mine is willing to place an order for an X-11 CCT. The Japanese dealer is not willing to ship the part to the US, so he is having it shipped to his parents' house near the dealership. His parents will then ship to the US. Cost for the part is about $45 plus shipping. I will have him place the order on Friday 18 July. If you are interested, let me know by then. I will plan on covering the cost of shipping to the US, since I'm ordering a part anyway. You will need to pick up shipping costs from my place to yours. I will not charge for repackaging the parts, only the actual shippping costs.
This has taken a significant effort on his part with several calls to Japan to determine how to get the parts here, so please do not ask me to place another order after the 18th.

Correct. $45 (give or take depending on dollar to yen exchange) + shipping from Platteville, WI. I won't require payment before the 18th. I'll let you know when I know the final cost of the part and what it will cost for shipping to your door. Then I'll wait for your payment before I actually ship. I'm flexible about payment method. Checks/money orders are fine or perhaps paypal. I haven't used paypal to recieve payments before, but I can't imagine there is much to it. Like I said... I'm flexible.

| Pardon my ignorance but, from the nature of this post do I assume that the X-11 and XX cct are the same and this is about cost saving rather than the X-11 being fitted for another reason?
Cheers

X-11 CCT is supposed to be a (much?) improved design. I thought I would give one a try. The X-11 CCT is a different part number and it is black instead of silver. I have no clue what internal differences there are or are not. I have not heard of anyone having repeat problems after changing to the X-11 CCT. The rattles continue to return after several thousand miles when using the XX part (at least for me).
The cost is not cheaper. You will probably be able to get the XX part cheaper from John's Bike Bits.

yes dez, there are several threads about ape manual tentioners, but their installation instructions are "lacking" to say the least...

Jim | That's a pity, I just bought a new one from JAWS this week, the regular XX one, 2 green dots on it rather than the 1 green dot on the one already fitted, hopefully 2 green dots means something?
But, as I've had many of the parts which Honda intended to be silver powder coated black as black CCT would have been ideal if I'd known. Sometimes I look at the starter motor and think of having that painted black too as it and the cct are the only obvious shiny bits on the engine, even my exhausts are black!! Saves on polishing, I'd rather ride the bike than polish all the shiny bits |

You can count me in. I'm in Menasha, WI. Just let me know the total paymet amount and I will mail you a check. I am personally don't know much able about paypal. Mine is fine for now but reading the history with the these, I'd rather get the X-11 one and have it when mine finally goes tits-up! These will come with the gasket or not? Either way I am still in!

I was not planning to order the gaskets from Japan. I will have to pick up a gasket for mine from my local dealer. If you want, I can pick you up a gasket while I'm there and send it with the CCT. If your dealer will give you a price break on Honda parts, it will be cheaper to get a gasket from them. I haven't convinced my dealer to give me a break on OEM Honda parts yet.

My internet service at home is giving me problems. I won't be able to check for any more interest after 2:30 central daylight time today. I will check one last time at 2:30 before leaving work.

Part cost came to $41.79 each. I'm still working out shipping costs for those who have sent their addresses. Hope to have it done tonight.
If anyone is interested, shipping from Japan was $29.91. Like I said before. I'm covering all of that since I was ordering anyway. I just thought I would throw it out there for reference.

Jim | When I replaced mine a couple of years ago, it definitely came with a new gasket in the package as the old one stuck to the engine side that I had to scrap it off.
