I am thinking about buying a pair of carbon fiber slip ons for mainly the weight savings. I don't want a brand that is loud. I am keeping the OEM panniers on the bike, so I guess I need to stay with the round can shape instead of oval because of clearance issues. Is it true that you can touch the CF can while the engine is running ? Do they really stay that cool ? Please give the pros/cons of the different manufacturers. I am considering :
Scorpion, Blue Flame, and Akrapovic. I don't think Ti-Force makes slip-ons for our Birds, or do they ? All replies welcome !

Surely someone has opinions on different brands of Carbon Fiber cans. (fit and finish, sound, quality) Anyone ?

I was looking for exactly what you described and decided on the Yoshimura RS-3 CF slipons, which come with their ''Zyclone'' baffle system.
They sound fantastic, quiet rumble at start-up and idle, a nice low growl when you're tooling around town, and a spine-tingling howl when cracked at high revs.
They do stay quite cool to the touch, and the oval can is tall and thin in cross section, so they fit just fine with my Givi rack and side cases.
My only gripe was for some reason the left one was a pain in the ass to line up and bolt-on, but the right one was perfect, don't know if it was my bike or the cans. No evidence of prior abuse, stock cans lined up perfectly. Weird.
One problem: Yosh apparently has now discontinued them for our bikes.
I managed to get a set from Hard Racing for a great deal, $660.95 for the pair.

There were apparently still a few sets left when I ordered them a month ago, so if that interests you, ya might want to hurry.

....lately i found my self amazed by the two brothers exhausts especially models m-2 and m-5 oval... i can.t suggest anything as it is a matter of personal taste...but have a look on their on line catalog...mostly all manufactors describe their products benefits on a brief way...

I have narrowed my choices down to the Blue Flame or Scorpion, because these brands never need repacking. Does anyone have either of these brands on their XX with the OEM Honda panniers ? If so, are you satisfied with the quality, sound, fit/finish/ (clearance to the pannier), and ease of mountabilty of either ?
