Hi all !

I start to install the wideband commander, change the sparks, remove the exhaust collector and install the blockoff kit for the pairs. (and others stuffs...)

The first thing I removed was the radiator and after that the exhaust. At this time I had a bad surprise. The two central pipes had a lot of coal and the two edges pipes was very clean.

When I revoved the sparks I had the same bad surprise. The sparks of the central cylinders was wetted, dirty and smelling gas. The sparks of the edge cylinders was dry and clean.

So I have a injection problem I dont have any idea how to fix.

See the sparks pic and take note the centrals !!!!

Any guess ?

Thanks all !!!

The middle 2 cylinders run off the same coil, you obviously have spark but maybe poor spark, which just could be the caps.If the mileage is high, middle cylindrs rings usually wear faster than outers(more heat),do a compression check, better yet a leak-down test to see if you're losing compression past the valves.
Or you could just have 2 bad plugs but I doubt that.
That's all I can think of,probably a few other things it might be.

Hi Partsguy,

It could be the coil, but if I had a poor spark dont you think the engine will run with some failure ? The engine is running great but is drinking a lot of fuel...

The bike is with 34,000km and I dont have any problem with the oil level. The engine is not burning oil... If I had any valve with problem should the engine lose power right ?

I still think the problem is the fuel injection system...

A friend of mine told that its normal the middle cylinders run rich, but I dont belive its is right. If you see the middle exhaust pipes you will agree with me...

I took some pics from the internal part of the middle pipes but the pics dont have a good image...

So If you have any other suggestion...

Thanks !!!!

The fuel pressure regulator has vacuum lines that connect, I believe, to the inner cylinders' throttle bodies. If the regulator diaphram is leaking, gasoline can be sucked into those vacuum ports, causing those cylinders to run rich.

Double-check the routing of the fuel pressure regulator's vacuum lines, then after running it for a bit and shutting it off, pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator to see if it is wet with gasoline.

It is possible that it could be leaking a little gasoline by all the time, engine running or not.

Hi Mancrius
Was the BB running a bit "fluffy" when you slowly open the throttle ?
It may be that you need the carbs balanced.
I have a 2001 F1 fuel injection and the balance was way out
no1 24.2 / no2 25.4 / no3 27.5 / n04 24.4. They all should be at least in the same start number.
Balanced the carbs with a mercury gauge and the bike runs sweet as a nut now. test conditions England air temp 6C misty.

B.T.W.
Manual say that there are three screws.... they are three 7mm nuts.number three has no adjustment as this is the base setting.

Hi Guys,

I had ask to honda about the rich mixture on middle cylinders and them told me its normal for a temperature question. But on my case I have too much gas... So I´m thinking to balance the injection. I have a friend that have the gauges but I never tryed to do it myself before... I´m going to look at the service manual for new informations...

I dont have so much time on week, just the weekends for "fun"... I´ll keep you informed about any news !

Thanks all !
