For the carb'd 1100xx operators:
We have mentioned time and again about the importance of maintaining all the bits and pieces to the airbox and it's related inlet ducting and air inlet management parts which make the motor operate normally. Key among these is the "Air Guide Plates". While doing my recent (and yet to be completed) handle bar switch block change outs I took the opportunity to shoot a photo of the air guide plate that might be suitable for use as a template so that the members might produce there own plates should you find they are missing from your machine. I also took note of a second piece of plastic that fits 90degree's to the air guide plates that I thought worth mentioning. These are called "Air Guard Plates" if my search of the parts manual is correct. Photo's more or less tell the tail here. So..what follows in my collected intel on the air guide plate system. They are rather easily misplaced, I think, because they simply slot into there locations without a fastener to secure them. They are identical pieces used on both sides of the upper fairing. So for what it's worth here's what I've got:
The Template: The idea for the template is, you print the picture and then ensure that the size is correct by measuring the rulers on your printed picture...if the scaling is correct to the rulers then your good to go.
