    CABIN FEVER!!!!!

Is it just me, or does it seem like I haven't riden my bike for about 3 years?

Could this winter drag on any slower?

Could it please snow some more and get really ,really cold out for a long long long time???

Personaly I like bad weather, people who live in Florida and New Mexico have no idea what they are missing...

Sure, sure I can move, but where?

Maybe I'll move up to Yellow Knife, NWT, or how about Moosejaw, Saskachewan, oh and lets not forget about Winnipeg, Manitoba.....no wait, it's winter there too. Good god,,,, it's winter everywhere.

You know, I could just defect to Arizona or Nevada. Hmmmm, what to do, what to do ?

    You know what.

I think I'll just wait another 19 months until spring arrives right here....yes here, in good old winter land.

Welcome to Alberta boys, where there's ten months of winter...and two months of poor dog sledding.

Ok, rant over with......I feel better now

I feel your pain, 'bro! The PacNorWest has had a particularly shit winter thus far... while the Northeast has enjoyed a balmy one to date. Last year or two, the opposite has occurred.

I don't mind the freezing temps; I can always hide behind the FJR's fairing and mega Cee Bailey's windscreen to get to work. And I can even put up with the rain, though it's a drag during commuting, no question.

It's that combination that pisses me off.

Brutally cold, dry winters? Bring it on. Unusually wet, warm winters? 'Tis a bummer, but I can handle that.

But getting caught in the conditions like the photo below, that's a complete drag...

    Re: CABIN FEVER!!!!!

Wow, did you seriously have to ride home in that stuff?

I have moved bikes back and fourth across my farm yard from one building to another in the snow, and even that is a major feat.

Sorry for the rant though guys, being up and at work for 23 hrs straight started to effect my mind last night.

Oh, by the way. I just recieved a call, one of our trains just hit an avalanch in the Rocky mnts. The crew and locomotives went down a 200 foot cliff. Sounds like everone is ok....at this point. More later as new developes, as you can imagine I gotta run.

    Re: CABIN FEVER!!!!!

The weather here in Toronto has been just warm enough to be tempting to take the bike out of the garage, but I haven't taken it out yet. It seems that the road departments have decided to put salt down every time the temperature approaches zero.

This mild winter sucks. I recognize I don't have a say in this, but either get cold and give us a proper winter, or let's move straight to spring and get riding.

Hey, at least you guys are in the general vicnity of your bikes. I'm in the Army and am currently deployed overseas on Operations. My baby is sitting in my garage 10,000k away. luckily a mate is taking her out for a spin once a week for the next six months (can a Blackbird cheat on you?). My wife refuses to start her up and put the phone next to the engine for me.

Roll on May, when I get home !

Went out the other morning with my feet on the ground for three blocks to the main road. It wasn't any better so had to turn around and cage it to work.

BTW Dale, is that "QuickSilver - Ag1"??

Well, not to put my whole foot in my mouth....but I guess I have my AZ ride to look forward to. I land in Vegas in March 5 , drive to Lake Havasu, and on the 17 th the boy's and bikes will show up from Canada (they drive-I fly). Still 2 long months away though.....but man oh man I can hardly wait to get back in the desert....not to mention spring break

    Re: CABIN FEVER!!!!!

I rode christmas day (and I'm sure we have about the same climate), sure I had to doddle down the sidewalk till I hit the main street as the side streets are still glare ice due to our dreaded hot/cold weather cycles this winter, but it was fairly ride pleasant at 3 deg. C on clear secondary highways. Should maybe have lowered the tire pressures though as they didn't warm up much. You must have a bit too much snow packed gravel between your house and the main roads?

You hit the nail on the head with that one. Here in Red deer the highways are good, but, I live on a farm over near Sylvan Lk, the 1/4 mile driveway is the culprit.

I was down at the bike show on Sat - sun, saw about 6 bikes out running around cowtown

No, that's not me... I draw the line at accumulated snow/ice.

If you look close at the plates on the cages and other clues, that shot wasn't taken in the USA.... since the front fender says "CBS" (Combined Brake System) on it I'd say England or northern Europe, I'm guessing....

Funny pic though... unless you're the one that has to ride it home....
