I pay 735 for my 1900 Raider, and 840 for my ZX 14. 1 mill coverage, 500 deductible, fire, theft, collision. I know youngsters that are paying over 3500. The cost of a speeding ticket is peanuts compared to the insurance hike (that's why all my questions about detectors LOL)

I paid just over $700 for my S3T Buell, and about $535 for my 750 Ninja. The Blackbird came in at just over $900. for the most basic insurance I could get......no fire, theft, collision coverage and I have been riding for just about 48 years on and off again, no speeding tickets in the past few years..............pretty clean record overall..............High cost because the BB was considered a sport bike..................How can we get this changed like they did in Quebec?
Frecking insurance companies are some of the worse thieves out there..................right up there with Bell, Rogers, Ontario Hydro and the like.............rant over

I think you might want to check around. My rate is not much above what you are paying and I have full coverage - fire, theft, comp, collision, a million liability and low deductible. What really boils my sauce is that the insurance co's won't allow us to remove everything but fire/theft for the winter like they used to. I'm not going to ride it in January, so why do I have to keep it insured for the road? I can do it with my car. Why not the bike?

BC Canada is overpriced to insure a motorcycle, especially 1000 cc and up. I drive with liability on my Bird not worth insuring for collision imho. Even with liability and theft with max discount as a middle aged guy I pay 120-125/mthly on payment plan and I insure for about 5-6 mths annually, then store it in garage uninsured

Try T-D Insurance. I have a UWO Alumni group plan. They never checked - just say you are and got a letter from the Alumni association LOL (OK I am an Alumni - but they never checked is all I'm sayin). T-D was way cheaper than Allstate for me, both on cars and bikes. The amount I save on the package for the car and the Raider almist pays the payments on the ZX 14 (about 75%).

Just payed 40euros for 3months cover (3rd party only).
Road tax was 130euros on the bird this year.(up from 112euros the last couple of years)

    My hands are tied,
The billions shift from side to side,
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride,
For the love of God and our human rights....

I pay about 170 USD for a year of full coverage on my XX and about 25 to license it. I found FC for my incoming 2012 zx14 for 260 a year.

Saskatcewan is another rip off province for bike insurance. My SO's SV650 cost over $1100 to insure. My daughter bought the bike, took it to Allberta and the same (if not better) coverage was less than $500. SAsk classes the SV as a sport bike. Pay the same as a GSXR100, 1098 Duc, etc. Makes no sense but since the Sask government has an insurance monopoly, you have no choice.

Re: 'Bird is no longer on Quebec's dreaded Super Sport list!

When I called my insurance company (covers my house, a rental apartment building I own, truck, 2 cars, been with them for 10 years) they quoted me....I am serious....$4000 for one year of basic insurance!! And I am 45 yrs old and have had my MC licence since I was 18 years old, no accidents/tickets. Wow, that's a lot of healthcafre benefits, hey DeathWish01? The agent said that her company imposed a 400% "surcharge" on CBR's (some companies I called wouldn't even insure the bike!!). So obviously I shopped around and got it down to $1000 per year, plate is $80. What a steal...
