How about doing it in conjunction with the Parry Sound Sportbike Rally in July?
I'm in Montreal, but I always try to make that event.
It'd be great to get an XX gathering going there...

I went to the sport bike ralley once. To the cops it sort of like shooting bears at the dump. The ralley is just bait. The ralley weekend is a good weekend to go ridiing someplace other then Parry Sound.
can we skirt that weekend, I'm at the buell 25th homecoming in milwaukee.(july3-6), parry sound is a great area, been going to the ralley for 20 years.
JP7 its a good event to visit, lots of bikes, some vendors, meet some nice people who love bikes, but its not a weekend to rip the backroads, like herb says lots of cops doing bussiness.
how about a weekend in may?

Hi guys,
Sorry I disappeared for a week on this, had big deadlines at the office this week.
Herb, I hear you, I know there are tons of cops in the immeadiate Parry Sound area that week, but in my experience they are always patrolling within 20K or so of the town to control the hooligans stunting or otherwise acting stupid in the middle of the road. And well they should be.
Once well out in the countryside, I don't ever recall seeing a single speed trap.
My idea behind suggesting this was that I always plan my schedule to meet a number of friends at the rally, but unfortunately it's usually my only chance to make it up that way from Montreal, and I when I heard you guys chatting about a ride up there I thought perhaps this might work.
I was thinking we could meet somewhere in the area, maybe early on the Sunday, and then get far out of town for a good ride.
There are just so many good roads in the area! I especially like the Algonquin area.
Thoughts?
Ian
I think I was up in Parry Sound the year after a couple of people got killed so it might have been worse then it is now.
Hey all,
I have moved from the Maritimes to Ottawa and I will be riding alone until I meet the motorcycle community here. I have ridden around Calabogie before and well the area is awsome. Count me in for a ride this summer or even if some of you head to Parry Sound let me know. It's on my calender.
Cheers,
Hey there Maverick! I'm from Nova Scotia too, and I live now in MOntreal, 1.5 hours from Ottawa, and I go there often for rides. I'll let you know next time, if you want to come along!![]()
......Alright... let's do this.....
Charlesfleur, For sure I am aways game for a good ride. Anytime after first week in May I am game. (Going to get my baby from NS and rider her up here)
Cheers,
Hey guys,
Just discovered this thread, I'm in Alliston, count me in for a ride. I moved here from Newfoundland 2 yrs ago and have gotten to know a nice group of bikers. They introduced me to Southwwood Rd ( CR 13 ) runs from Severn Bridge to Torrance...33 kms of twisties. We've run it several times with a stop in Bala for eats. I'm kinda between Shelburne and Barrie...let me know.
