Me and the S.S.Straighliner will give it a shot.
Hi ... new to the forums here... and a new Bird owner as well. I happen to live a few minutes from the Shannonville track so I can give you any information on the area you may need. For those interested in riding.... the track is nice but the area itself has some great riding to be had. The county run boasts some of the best cruising this side of T.O. and more than a few places to open it up. The Campbellford run is another popular run with the locals as well.
Last time I checked you didn't need to be a registered competitor to put up a canopy tent at the track either. But worst case scenario I have more than enough room at my place to host a get together... back yard is about 100 acres or so...lol.
Cheers,
BR.

Thanks for the information. Perhaps we can ask you to put together a route around the Shannonville area for us to take a ride for about an hour or two. I am sure we will be fine at the track, but do appreciate the offer to use your back yard. I will be at the Shannonville races on June 1,2&3 for the Vintage event and Blackbird gathering, as well the vintage event on July 14, 15. Look for ward to meeting you all there on the weekend of the 1st. and then again at Mosport Aug 24-26. Should be a couple of fun weekends ................
So that's it.......just a half dozen or so Blackbird owners and two of them are from out of the country. There has to be at least two or three dozen Blackbirds within a 100 mile radius of Toronto. Who else will be coming out to one of these meets?????????????? Come on guys and gals, should be a fun time on the rides, great vintage or superbike racing to watch and some great companionship with fellow Blackbird owners. Come out for a days ride or the whole weekend, make it a family deal, bring the other half for a ride and/or a camping weekend....................early June and Late August are generally great weather rides..............
Patience Brian,it will grow-like fungus it can take time.
I'm surprised Tony hasn't chimed in yet, there's a couple from Windsor and no doubt others who probably haven't been on here for a while. If the boss lends me a plate and the date doesn't conflict with any semi-major drag event I'm as good as there.Too bad I don't sell Honda anymore...coulda brought a bag o' tensioners with me!![]()
Brian, as you know I'm in for sure. Know what, please send me an email with those dates that you will be going to the events and I'll try my ultimate best to at least join you.
Come on Bird owners, there are a lot more than six or seven of us around just the GTA. And our cross border friends, there are quite a few of you in NY & NJ
, probably a 5 hour ride to our Kingston border. For me, it would be a great pleasure even if it's just to see the bikes and owners together. And it would be a great idea to put FORUM Names to actual people

Yea, I know it will grow and in the end of it all I would expect to see upwards of 12 or 15 or even more at the Mosport event, maybe 6 or 8 at the Shannonville event, but would love to see many, many more at both events.
I am not supposed to get stressed, but I guess I just can't help myself. Like the wife and kids say, patience is not one of my virtues. I just never seem to be able to wait for anything, hell, I just bought a Blackbird in late January, now I want to ride. If this warm weather keeps up, I just may this week, except for tonight when it is going below freezing temp. Like Patrick, I would like to put faces to the Forum names and get a chance to see a whole flock of Blackbirds together in one place, and check out all the mods done by others.
By the way Al, I just found a guy on ebay with a bunch of '97 Blackbird parts and have bid on the instrument cluster I am looking for.His prices seem reasonable. If you are interested let me know and I will send you the link or his name. e-mail works best for me brian@cleanemissions.com. Anyone else as well as long as you don't bid against me for the instruments.
Thanks
Brian
Al is probably right, it will grow. Let's keep it going and I'm sure more will join in!
Shameless bump
Sorry for the late reply... just been busy with work. Yea I could put together a ride out here in the county for you... nice tour through the vinyard areas... some nice twisty bends up through Demorettesville road and again through mountain view area. Cruising out here is always a good time with so many areas to ride through. I just went and checkout out my new purchase last night ... man these Black Birds are nice. This one has had a recent engine rebuild as well as a 4 into 1 exhaust and a slip on. Carbs were re-jetted and tuned as well as a new paint job on it. The only thing I could find wrong with it was a rattle comming from the engine at idle between 1500 -3500 rpm... beyond that she is a real beauty. I am looking forward to getting in some good riding this year on it.
Cheers,
BR.
A 9 hours ride for me (From Quebec, Quebec) .... maybe for Mosport Aug 24-26 ....

You have a '99 with carbs? Uh oh.
Early 99 perhaps?
More beer!!
If you guys could tolerate an ancient old fart on a ZX14 I might be able to join you.
Bach - love to have you at either event. Most of us are perhaps just a little over the hill, so you will fit right in. Partsguy is talking about coming as well from your area.
BR Sounds great I am sure we will all enjoy the ride. Sounds like there will be a bunch of new BB owners along and some not so young riders, so should be a fun run.
D1rtyw0rm - great to have some Quebec riders. bring along a few friends as well. I have a friend from our area (Army base in Borden) who is from Quebec city area that is talking about coming to Mosport on his KTm1000, so should be a good mix of BB and a few other bikes as well.
Everyone who has an interest in Blackbirds is welcome to join us.
