gas tank closure

When the gas tank is "buttoned up", ie completely down and fixed should there be any gap at the front between the tank and the frame? If so, how many cms. There seems to be a space that I haven't noticed before. Should it be "flush" with no space at all? Cheers

Re: gas tank closure

Thanks, it appears that there is some space and it isn't a tight, H20 seal. I guess I'm anal, and my tech thinks I'm a pita. It's my dime. Cheers.

Re: gas tank closure

I just measured the gap at the front-most part of the tank and it is 1.0625" or in metric 2.7 cm.

Re: gas tank closure

I change front & rear with the chain. When the chain get's to it's adjustment limit or the rear sprocket starts to get hooked. Might be a bit late if you wait to hear something
