| R1 r/r
So my replacement R1 r/r arrived today. Compared to my previous r/r (an aftermarket generic model) the R1 unit is freaking huge. At least three times as thick--so thick in fact I am unsure whether it will fit under the tail fairing at the stock location. Has anyone done this mod? If so, where did you put the r/r? Also, the R1 unit requires blade connectors instead of a pigtail, and is separated into two sections: one with three blades (for the yellow wires) one with two (for the red and green wires)--the three yellow wires from the stator have no required order, correct? How do I determine which of the remaining two blades the red and the green wire attach to? Danka | |

If you go to the resource centre article & half way down the last paragraph click on the underlined link how to fit the R/R it shows the connections for the R1 Install.

| Re: R1 r/r It would seem the search feature on this website won't recognize "R1" because its too short, so thanks for the lead to the resource center--if anyone else has any helpful info (as opposed to Dr. Douche's classic and hilarious "fag" response here) I'd appreciate it. Update: After looking at the pics on the R1 swap out, it would appear my bike already had an R1 unit: they look identical (it also looked like whoever did the swap was following the directions on the page). The R/R I was shipped is completely different: its basically like R/Rzilla...I will get some pics posted this afternoon. Thanks Last edited by greener; 06-27-2009 at 9:27 AM. |

If you have one, why did you buy another? Why not oem? Just curious.

OEM units from the newer models are also larger and well finned.

Got some pics of the new r/r--the one I pulled off is on the left, the new one (r/rzilla) is on the right--like I said its freaking huge! No way it will fit in the stock location. If I trim a few of the cooling fins I think I can get it to fit a little aft of the stock spot. During normal operation, what's the surface temp of one of these things? Thanks |

| Re: R1 r/r I am running a OEM RR and Ricks Stator, installed at the same time has worked perfect since and I am getting the proper voltages. If anyone needs an RR here is my plug, check the for sale section I have a brand new Electrosport. My word of advice as well as the mechanic is check the stator to make sure it is not an issue prior to just replacing the RR
