Re: Wiring Diagram

I made this kind of modification and I encountered some difficulties :
1/ The connectors are not compatible --> so you have to plug the cables directly and you must exactly know what is the function of each wire (you'll find a sketch in the technical documentation)
2/ the fixing diameter of the water temp sensor can be different of the original one --> you must buy an adapter
3/ you can have signal interference in the read of the RPM --> you must fing the adequat filter to put on your wire
4/ an advice : for the speed signal you can take the signal of you calculator but it is not reliable. As for me I preferred put an inductive sensor on the front wheel to be able to set the tire circumference and to adjust this parameter with a GPS.

I put a pic of the wire during the mounting and a video of the first start

I approached this differantly and had different result to you.
1/ I purchased the subloom that connects the headlights and dash to the main loom and it has the same connectors on it..
2/ I havent ordered a replacement sender unit as yet but i have worked out that they are differant.
3/ not sure about this one as the rpm worked straight up without problems.
4/ speedometer seems to work without any problems,

The problems that I have encountered so far are..

1, the fuel temp reading is at its maximum and the dash shows 132 degrees. this is caused by the different sender.

2, when you turn the bike on the dash goes through its self test and this ends exactly how you would expect it to. The oil, FI lights on, the tacho at 0 and the speed at 0. when you start the bike though the FI light goes almost off but glows.. when you use the indicators or high beams the FI light glows brighter..

Re: Wiring Diagram

I just watched your video and that seems to be something like a fireblade dash installed inside a blackbird housing..

What is it....

Re: Wiring Diagram

I don't know what happens with your FI light (mine is a carb one) but the different troubles we meet are in relation with the brand of dashboards I suppose...
The brand of the one seen on the video is KOSO but I'm gonna change this year for a PZRacing dashboard (see the first pics)... more expensive but looking like more high tech (full digital)
It also exists an interesting dashboard with Starlane (the last pic)

Re: Wiring Diagram

OMG, that is way too cool! Orni, did you do all that yourself? Is that on your Bird? Is that a mechanical clutch rather than hydraulic? That couldn't be a cheap install. It's impressive from my perspective.

Happy you like it!!!... Ya I did it myself on one of my birds... It's not so complicated if you have the wiring diagram (I'm useless in electricity) but it's also true you must make adaptation pieces for the mechanical installation (for the dashboard and also for the speed sensor).

All you have to do is cut your dash to pieces and install a KOSO unit inside it like ORNI did..
