hey kitchen-masterdo you remember our discussion about cree leds?
so what do you say what sort of leds would be a good add on for the fender for having a good light at night in the corners?
i´ve managed to punch out small diameters exactly in the carbon fabric.
in the right position it might give a good light in corners or while camping.
first layer punched, put it into the mould, fixing the leds in place with a divice, resin in, vacuum - first layer with light finished.
followed by wiring, soldering and additional layers, and the rest of lamination...
in short: what sort of led?!?!
That's an interesting idea, heisti. While I love my HID for straight line riding at night, the corners are a different story and I have wondered what the solution would be. The problem with mounting LED's to cast usable light while cornering is that they would be aiming quite high while riding straight. Perhaps they could be tied in to a bank sensor so they would only illuminate when the bike leaned a few degrees either way. The cree units would be a possibility there.
More beer!!
tucker the man and his dream?
afaik tucker was the first one with asyncronic lights. (my knowledge base is the film - nothing more.)
That's the one. The Torpedo had a centre headlamp that steered with the front wheels.

oh, i didn´t know that it was moving.
Yeap seen that movie too in my youth!
Good movie for a teenager btw!
tilt sensors don´t work... ir-led for measurement to the ground each side will be the solution. and it has to be affordable.
update:
if anyone knows a better led, please tell me.
i´ve found this Seoul Semiconductor, Inc after 2 weeks of forum work (man that´s boring to deal with electronic nerds who aren´t into bikes...)
it has 700lm (900lm max) and is affordable. the price is around €10,- to €15,- if you buy it on ebay or a store. i have still no price from seoul inc. for a strip of 100/500/1000pcs.
