What are the connectors next to rear turn signal?

Ok, so I was not planning ahead and while putting on my Givi Wingrack, I took off stock rear turn signals without having proper connector on the Givi ones :-( I am looking for a suitable connector now, but thats not the point. The point is that when I disconnected the stock turn signals I found something strange - there are 4 connector in a plastic sleave inside the tail faring. Two of them are for turn signals, and the other two are not in use - one looks just like the turn signal, and the other is two wire, flat connector. I suspect one is for the license plate light (which now that I think of, seems to be missing on my bike) - but what is the last one for - is beyond me.

Anyone know what these are?

Also any suggestions for dealing with turn signal connection. As I need to be back on the bike by day after tommorow and I am not willing to ride without turn signals (I live in San Fran, the bastards are trying to run me over daily already, don't need to give them extra excuses) - mail order is out of the question. I am thinking of using those cheap ass Radio Shack T-Taps - but was wondering if there is a better option that does not involve cutting off factory harness. (I would like to be able to remove Givi racks at a later time and restore the bike to factory-esque state.)

Thanks.

-HH

P.S. In case it matters, its an '02 Blackbird.

Have you check the wiring diagram in the service manual?

The diagram I have is logical and not physical, but that is how I figured out that one of them is for license light. I suppose the smart thing to do is to not be lazy and use the wire color in the other connector to track it down. :-/

I can't really help except to tell you I have a Givi mono rack with their turn signals, which are necessary. My old signals are off and everything is wired perfectly. My tech did it. Because I have a brake lite in the top box the wire runs through the old turn signal holes. Isn't no licence plate lite illigal? Check with Jaws for some plugs for the old turn signals. Be careful for your brake lite. Good luck.

I got that much, and I did buy the turn signals, which I had to buy separately as I already had the wingrack from my old ZX11.

Looks like the previous owner cut off some of the plastic under the license plate holder. I am guessing the license plate light was part of it. Here is to hoping I don't get pulled over for it.

Thanks. Looking at Jaws site now - though might be too late now to order from UK :-(

Re: What are the connectors next to rear turn signal?

Ok, so for those who care the two mystery connectors are:

1 - as suspected, the connector that looks like turn signal connector is license plate light

2 - The diffrerently shaped connector is, based on color code, the service check connector - which to best of my knowledge is used to reset FI.

Also, I now have functioning Givi turn signals, yay! Although had I realized that Givi is too cheap to include a light bulb, I would have saved myself 1/2 hour of head scratching wondering how come it no workie workie.

Mine came with bulbs. There is a device that turns the turn signals into riding lites that stay on and bling when turning. You do have to splice in though. I have the kit but on advice of my tech(yes, I trust him), I didn't install it. I do have led tail lites though. Be careful of the Jaws site, it can be a drain on the bank account.

Hmm, are the front turn signals supposed to operate like that? On my bike the front turn signals (inside the mirrors) are always on but blink when turn signal is in use. Rear turn signals do not do that. I found it odd, but assumed this was normal for a blackbird. I would not put it past previous owner to put in something aftermarket there thought. There are a number of other modifications I noticed already (like 12v "cigaret lighter" plug in the dash, cut off licence plate holder, DynoJet etc)
