being an intergrated system, there aren't too many options available without drilling holes in your fairing and fitting stalks.

I think the standard mirrors suit the 'Bird perfectly ......... and don't forget they were designed in the wind tunnel for the most effective lowering of the drag co-efficient. Installing after market ones would be like installing air brakes and will inevitably cost top end speed !

I like the stock mirrors as well. Have you tried or thought about mirror extenders?

now i may be wrong but i remember reading somewhere that the birds mirrors are the same as the mirrors on the NR750 honda and they work better than most other bike mirrors at least they are clear and usable i think changing them would involve much $$ and body work mods and painting to make them look intergrated |

The mirrors, with extenders, are perfect. Carbon fibre looks cool, go to clear atlernatives but anything else would look like shit in my book. There are so many improvements to be made to the Bird, and the mirrors are the bottom of the list, my opinion. Have you done your suspension, lighting, performance, ex. exhaust, pciii, luggage, ride hight, etc, etc.?

+1 On the mirror extenders. I could only see my elbows before. Otherwise I can't think of how an aftermarket mirror could possibly enhance the look or view. |

I like the originals, but, I have replaced the lenses for the clear option F&R. They look sharp. Also did the "shorten tip" on the rears.

hehe ;-) well i see, the Standard mirrors are very popular here. I also always liked them, but somehow id like to change them to a more agressive look. In my opinion the standard ones just look very well behaved.... when i watch it frontside, it looks like 1 of those dogs with funny ears ![]() thats why im thinking bout it, but its very rare to find it for our bike :-) |

Those "funny ears" are excellent and perfect turn signals as well. Go for Carbon Fibre and change to clear alternatives. Don't make a "sows ear out of a silk purse". That style seems ok for Mercedes, Honda, etc. Now you're trying to improve on Mr Honda's design?? Why not turn your bike into a chopper?

well, everyone`s taste is different - im not asking whether it is good or not - im asking for oppurtunities :-) also im sad that i can't adjust the standard mirrors to my height. Its always problematic for me, especially when my gf sits behind me, to check the mirrors. But someone said something about mirror extenders - that could also help me, i don't know.... btw... im 2meters tall :-) mby some1 of you solved this problem somehow? cheers Edo cheers Edo |

If you don't opt for the "extenders", you could always add a pair of small adhesive-backed convex mirrors to the innermost section of the glass surface... they work surprisingly well.
