Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

PARTSGUY total for carbon fiber upper fairing is 611 dollars not 1600, unless you are considering the complete upper as the upper and both left and right lowers then it is 1575. Shipping is very in expensive and fast as I have ordered NUMEROUS parts from them only issue I have had is most parts are not on the shelf waiting so it can take 2-3 or maybe more weeks for the parts to be made and then shipped. NO IMPORT FEES ARE PAID ON MOTOCYCLE PARTS. You can be mr negative all you want if you dont want the parts or simply cant afford them then by all means keep your comments to yourself. This post was simply created for those that WANT AND CAN afford the parts.

SAYODA-looks like inner fairing parts are now 485. Prices have come up but only because the american dollar is so weak. As far as a group buy goes I dont know exactly how much of a price break I can get until I know how many of what will need to be ordered.

Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

Not married till Jan. And suprisingly I am already broke from the XX. New Corbin gunfighter and lady, bar ender helmet locks, scorpion helmet, and blue flame exhaust is the reason this time.

Although the carbon fiber upper inners would be a nice wedding gift Nutter.

Dumb question - You're talking about the tank right? You wouldn't paint anything else--unless you mean like the anodizing like the wheels, foot pegs, etc. I can see where it might look rather plain w/o.

Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

umm no I mean the carbon fiber bodywork. The whole bike is just carbon fiber... looks well busy or dull.. painting the CF with a pattern so that Cf is exposed in some areas with a nice paint scheme would look sick. IMHO

Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

I'd be interested in 1 ONLY - Upper Inner Fairings; 1 ONLY Dash Display; and 1 ONLY Front Fender/Guard.

I would love to buy a few more pieces but with a few minor accents... it will give my XX several light cosmetic upgrades to start with for now.

Let me know the cost(s) per piece, and I'll confirm my decision to go with them.

Where are these parts being purchase... and is there somewhere online that I can look at these parts (other than what was place in a link by cbrbear). I just want to make sure it's worth the $$ thing - for d bling!

Thanks!! Let me know bear!!

Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

I just checked out the Yen vs Canadian funds cost on the inner fairing... and my eyes just opened a wee bit wider than before. I think my plastic is looking better each time I say the words - $469.99.

The words "highway robbery" come to mind. I understand that these parts are "sweet", and they'll be stronger, lighter, nice upgrade in terms of cosmetic flair... but I think I'd have a hard time explaining the cost to my significant other. Tires, gas, oil, and some work on my carbs - these are easy to explain when spending the $$. "To make my bird look pretty"... doesn't really cut it in our household.

If there is a group buy and the cost should change significantly... let me know, otherwise I'll keep applying wax and armor-all for the time being... to achieve the "bling" factor on my stock XX.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but bling comes from the pocket of the spender.

Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

I paid just over 600 for the inner fairings, frame covers, and gage cover a while back when the US dollar was a lil stronger. Hey I have probably close to 30K wrapped up in my XX so yeah....

I would definitely go for the dash & inner panels, could not see a digi dash on there site tho. Would not be interested if I could not get the dash panel to match

cbrbear:
I checked out the website that you recommended and I see that that the upper fairing inner is availabel in plain weave carbon fiber. The photo is not all that good on the website for a-tech at Moto page top . Could you provide any photos of these panels on your bike? I think that would be a big help to those of us interested in the group buy. Thanks.

Re: Carbon Fiber group buy?

Thanks CBRBear... for the pics, and that small dose of understanding.

I heard what you wrote before about people replying with negative chatter about the CF buy-in you're trying to get going here. I think we can all appreciate that CF ain't cheap... but it's the old "cookie-jar" mentality here - about wanting what you just can't reach. If we could get the $$ down a wee bit... like $350-375.00 (as an example with the part I'm looking for)... then I can see pulling out the green. Not sure how much push/pull effect we can apply on these fellows over in Japan. If it was local, and quality fabrication... we may have more of a voice. I could be dead wrong on that too... who really knows eh? (the "eh" was for all my Canadian friends out there who thought we couldn't work it into a blog forum).

I'm genuinely interested in the 2 pieces - inner fairings, and dash.

Get some final pricing, and I can make a decision... which I'm sure everyone who is interested can appreciate.

Thanks again CBRBear!
