Go through the electrosport troubleshooting guide they have in there tech section. It'll tell you where the problem lies. Are you running a stock or mosfet RR. If it's the latter then I'd be more suspect of the stator. You can unplug it at the connection that has the 3 yellow wires and then read pin to pin on the output side of the stator. You should see close give or take 10 volts 50 VAC. be sure on the ac setting of your meter. They can be lower but what your really looking for is that they are all within 5 volts of each other. You will have 3 readings. Pin1 to pin 2 pin1 to pin 3 and the last pin 2 to pin 3.
Route 191 formerly Route 666 Some say that this section of the
road has 1100 curves in 95 miles.

Not really related and at risk of sounding dumb......is there a way of maybe having an indication of being in top on a carbed 'bird? Not a gear indicator as such just a confirmation light.

I found the best indication is that when I try to shift up, I cant! I have installed a really cheapo ($25) chinese gear indicator on my 97 that uses magnetic switches and a magnet off the gear lever, and it works well 95% of the time. But occasionally I do find myself in 7th or 8th gear. I don't know of anything that would specifically show whether you were in 6th or not.
    No good deed goes unpunished!

I sort of thought that leigh but you never know, I know the type you mean as a mate put one on an older GS but it was a bit hit and miss...I think we all try and find 7th on occasions.
