| Turn Signal control faulty ( On left handlebar)
i just developed a signal switch problem yesterday. When i move the signal actuator to either left/ right, the movement did not actuate my signals at all (that is: no signal blinking coming from my front or rear sinal assembly). How can i solve the problem without investing on a new left handlebar control assembly. Is my signal actuator control loose inside...? | |

Tried fixing it but still not working at its best. Decided to change for a new left hand switch cluster.

Could be as simple as a relay. Check that first. Does your bike have any non factory electrical farkles? If so, one of those could be causing trouble and showing up at the path of least resistance......

It could also be the flasher relay I have been having problems with my flasher not flashing on the LH side particularly in very cold weather and I notice when I put the indicators on the other day while in the driveway that when they did not flash there seemed to be a noticable and fast tick tick from the relay At first I thought it was the contacts in the switchgear but now I am thinking flasher relay . I mean it is 9 years old |

Thanks guys for all your input. Finally took the LH cluster out and opened it up. There was a non contact when one pushes the signal control to the left or right. But if i slightly press the signal lever inwards, the signal (blinking) starts. When i release pressure on the signal control, the blinking stops. Went into the inside portion and tried to check how i can tighten the contact inside but was futile. Finally gave up hope and bought a new LH cluster unit. Paid US$68 and everything works perfect now. Intially i thought it was the flasher unit too. I was wrong. Kept the borken down cluster unit as spare part. Thank you all, guess i cannot aviod the expenses cos the bike is already 6 years old and travelled 92000 kilometres. Wear and tear i guess! |
