I sell lots and lots of Bird Front Signals from Clear Alternatives. I just ordered 10 sets of clear and 10 sets of smoked to take with me over to Jaws when I go on the 24th. the Clear is the better seller but the smoked look very nice on the Black colored Birds. My Bird is Red and I prefer the clear ones on it. I actually have a pair of the smoked ones here that I was going to put on my Bird but just can't bring myself to removing the Clear. |

Thanks everone for your input. John by the way, how much would it cost me including freight to order a set of clear ones to Singapore. Would it cost less if i order , more? |

| Eifel Mountains here we come | Re: Front turn signal lense cover - which color? but the clear lenses with silvered bulbs look soooo much better. IMHO.

The lenses alone are $68.00 but it is the freight that is stupid expensive to Sinapore. FedEx shipping would run $25.00. Add another $10.39 for the Chrome bulbs.

So, get a set of each color, and experiment. As far as bulb replacement goes, make sure you like it. Those bulbs are a pain in the butt to get at, compared to stalk mounted blinkers. BTW, my avatar shows the Clear lenses, with Amber bulbs.

I have an '03 and got the smoked lenses and used Silverstar bulbs in them. They have a somewhat irridescent look to them and it is cool looking,,, Attachment 2748 can just see them in the pic.,,, somewhat Last edited by TexasDawg; 08-20-2007 at 8:28 PM. |

Clear with chrome bulbs, looks great. We have it both ways but it looks better IMHO to not see the bulb.

I have the chrome bulbs in my ST1300 lenses and the Silverstars in my XX's lenses are alittle brighter it seems. When the chrome bulbs go out in the St1300, I am going to replace them with the Silverstars. But it is because I like they way they look. That irridescent look is neat looking I think,,,I got the Silverstars at my local O'reilys autoparts store. They are alittle more expensive than the chrome or amber bulbs, though,,,,

nm767, thanks for the pictures. That what i call a picture tells a thousand words. So chrome bulb confirmed. Now last decision: smoke or clear lense? Don't know which one would look good on a Bright silver 2001 BB, but i think the clear lense with chrome would go hand in hand with the BB headlight. |

nm767 - are those some type of extenders on the mirrors of the Blue bird? And this may be a dumb question but what do the Silverstar and chome bulbs color look like when they are on? I was switching to the clear lenses with amber bulbs until I saw this about other bulbs. Thanks |

The Chrome bulbs are exactly that chrome looking when not lit up. When turned on they light up amber so are legal use |

I think I gave my chrome amber bulbs to Tom and now he went and sold his Bird.... Oh and I was told by a cop that my bulbs are legal.

Chrome bulbs actually come in a few different colors. You diffenently need amber for the signals. I put a piece of black electrical tape on one of the contacts on the bottom of the bulb so that they are not On as running lights but instead just flash amber on/off when I hit the blinker. easy mod as I don't prefer them on as running lights, just like the Euro Models come standard. Euro models have 1156 bulbs in front and the US have 1157. |
