    windscreen question

Putting a new mra screen on the bike,as i took the old screen off a couple of washers fell out & i did"nt get a chance to see where they went. There stainless steel type,i think you could call them top hat washers as they have a little insert bit.I"ve e-mailed jaws & he seems to think they are not a standard item on the screen.Any ideas?
    Thanks

Be more careful next time, LOL You may have to take some bits and pieces off to go searching. Do you have a picture of the washers?

The 4 lower nuts are called special nuts in the manual. You can see them in the picture. They have a rubber bit that tightens around the screen as the bolt tightens on the metal nut insert. I expect they will be an expensive Honda part. Probably worth spending time finding them.

    Re: windscreen question

Yeah, I've dropped my share of washers replacing screens. Had the best luck using a wire coat hanger to retrieve them. Sometimes it takes a while to spot them but is probably in a crevice of the inner faring. The washers are needed in the two lower screws if I recall correctly. They do look like a top hat but mine were partially rubber. I also used some tape when installing to keep them in till fastened. Although you are probably aware, I'll mention anyway, do not over-tighten.
    Good luck

    Re: windscreen question

Lay down on the floor and put you eye close as you can to the floor,
Then you can look flatly across the floor and then you can see them,
The little buggers are easy to see that way,

    Re: windscreen question

I think I may know Wild Card!

I recently changed my sparks and Im sure these are it...
The 2 coils atteched to the air box under tank, have washers exactally like them! So x4 in total as each coil is secured by 2 bolts/nuts!
You may find one of your coils hanging free once you take off your tank, not a good situation but not critical either.

Check it, you got nothing to lose!
