ANYBODY FANCY CF COMPLETE BODYKIT FOR THE BIRD?

If anyones would indeed like a set of complete fairings in TRUE carbon fibre, then please express your interest here.

I have someone who has got the mouldings and could do us a complete set in cf.

    That's the:

    1. Front cowl
    2. Side panels
    3. Rear cowl
    4. Front fender
    5. Rear hugger (ala Puig style)
    6. The V-piece

Could possibly get them to do the mirror cowls too, if there is enough interest generated..

Pricing looks to be pretty decent, looking around 1000 euros atm.
Could possibly get better pricing, depending on the volume.

These guys have been doing cf for a while now, and we will have a set for testing, if all goes to plan. That will be my own set...
Having said that, it may be a lil while yet before I get my funds ready for this...

    Well, let me know chaps..
    bullet and Judda like this.
    My hands are tied,
The billions shift from side to side,
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride,
For the love of God and our human rights....

Sounds reasonable pricing for carbon but, sadly won't fit in with my plans for some kind of mutant half faired 'Bird.
Hope it works out though, Graham showed how an idea can become reality once enough people buy into the idea and now Pete /Gaz have done it so long may these mutually beneficial projects continue.

Re: ANYBODY FANCY CF COMPLETE BODYKIT FOR THE BIRD?

    Cheers for the feedback guys.
I shall pursue this anyways on my own, but would be mucho cooler and a bit cheaper if we can get, say, 5 people to come in this with me.
1000euros for a full set really is cheap, for full, real cf...

Steve, I am sure I could sort you out with the top cowl, some side covers, a rear cowl and front and rear fenders, if that's your game mate. You know you wanna!
    You have seen this yes?

    Thanks Chris
I'm aiming - more like WISHING - for the style of the bike in my Avatar, I have the "underlips" to tidy up the bottom of the top fairing, I have a X11 (or maybe it's a CB1300) bellypan plus of course the recently fitted Unatec seat unit so little by little I'm getting there, trouble is I enjoy riding it too much to keep it off the road while I get it finished and then have to save up for a nice paint job.

Re: ANYBODY FANCY CF COMPLETE BODYKIT FOR THE BIRD?

Maybe in these hard times no-one can really justify the grand it costs for CF bodywork Chris, after all apart from bragging points down the pub it's neither a performance aid or a true cosmetic enhancement - unless of course you don't paint it. Having said that, if the various bits were available individually I'd imagine there would be more interest........................ Maybe.
MagicalRacing charge $250 US for a front fender in CF but, no longer list any of the other bodywork parts so maybe you & your guy will corner the world market once this takes off mate!!

Re: ANYBODY FANCY CF COMPLETE BODYKIT FOR THE BIRD?

    Cheers for your thoughts Steve.

Just to clear this up, I will not be making any money whatsoever, even if there is other people joining on this.

If magical racing would do a set, I reckon you'd be looking at well over 2500US dollars. Easy.
So for 1000euros I think this is cheap. Very cheap actually... I have not seen a cheaper full real cf kit ANYWHERE for ANY BIKE for under that!

I will keep pursuing this as I want a set for myself, as Graham, Heisti and others in here know, for a fair while now.

Btw I do not expect huge weight reductions, however, since this will go on my drag bird eventually, every little helps...

I aim at building a drag bird under 190Kg, with a turbo kit. A full cf bodykit looks like the only thing to go on that bike!

Of course, if anyone wants separate bits, I can probably ask them to do just that. Dont know about pricing though, so we'd have to make enquiries..

A CF body would be amazing and I agree that 1k euros does sound like a good deal for it. I'm not in a position financially to drop that kind of cash right now but I'm going to keep my ears perked up and if this thing really does happen I may jump in down the road.

    - though it's such a good offer, it's still a lot of money for a bottom feeder like ye ol' Mikey. that said, it is VERY tempting!
hope you keep us informed on the case.

    cheers,
    Mikey
