Sorry I won't be able to attend, for several reasons. You do have my support, however. Just know that I will be riding beside all that participate. If only in spirit. Be safe.

It was a good day. Turned up at 10:30 with about 80 bikes already there. By leaving time, I'm guessing there would have been 1000+ bikes ready to go.

I saw 4 other birds there (2 ING, 1 tit and a blackie), but only met one of the other owners (birdpilot - good to meet you).

I even got "interviewed" by a chick from channel 7 - 6 or 7 questions about why we were here, but that got cut to about 10 words at the start of the story - so if anybody was watching channel7 news on Saturday night, and your TV stopped working, I'm sorry it was probably my ugly mug that did it.

The ride down Eastlink was a bit strung out, with a few idiots doing all of their overtaking in the emergency lanes - not a good look with TV cameras watching everything. My bird didnt miss a beat - until we got to the Cranbourne Road traffic lights. Traffic was banked up for a couple of Kms, and the bike kept getting hotter and hotter. I was getting very nervous when the temp gauge hit 120 degrees.

Made it to the Civic centre and could barely hear the usual stuff these guys go on about. Heard a lot about road tolls and how bikes are environmentally wonderful vehicles and as such we shouldnt have to pay tolls on this road. Didnt get to hear anything about the cheesecutters, and missed the bit about the TAC levy.

All in all a good day of slow riding.

Exactly where do the egghead politicians think they are going to install front number plates? hmm on the wheel? no that would be dangerous. The light? no there's a light there for night time. Air intake? bike would blow up so no good there. Gee this is hard. On the windscreen? no thats all 3d and bendy and stuff so it wouldnt MAKE A GOOD PHOTO ANYWAY.

bad news guys. it looks like the latest invention maybe the helmet plate.

They're not serious are they?
