Well I woke early on the sat morning after only a couple of hrs shutteye and packed the bike and headed off for a boring blat up the highway. unlike other yrs there was no bikes on the highway??? normally a huge procession but I must have been to early for the rush.
after paying my entry I found the crew and started to set up the tent and crack a cold beer (thanks bugs ur da man) a heap of laughs and no tears that I know of
(a few tears of happiness were shed I am sure when some other bikers turned up and one turned out to be rather attractive and had a thing for very short shorts)
the gymkana was a funny spectacle as always but our legend Nobby Jeff was beaten at the posts in numerous events (dont worry buddy ur still a champion)
some chose to dance the night away on the dance floor with a constant stream of music that had everyone bopping away till I think 1am it got turned off.
Jeff's son Elliot and his gf Kat drove up for the night and Kat was soon wandering what the hell she had gotten herself into, it was soon found out she does NOT DO CAMPING!!!!
poor little bugga got thrown right in the deepend but seemed to cope ok and kept in touch with the (outside world) with a constant flow off music from her Mob.
(Bluebird Dave) suprised us all by coming up and finding us in the middle of a group of 900 odd bikes in the dark with only a very vague (read drunken) directions from Mick LOL
good onya Dave ur a true legend for bothering to come, he was soon asking where to buy food but Jeff (chef NobbyJeff) had only just finished cooking a feast and Dave wass oon well fed.
the night continued till well after midnight for most (1am for me) Bugs had retired a little earlier only to to be woken by a wanker valve bouncing his bike right beside his tent after 12, would have been ok but the bike sounded like shit and he was soon being yelled at to turn the fekking thing off!!!!
the standard sunday morning ritual was had with Jeff cooking a big breaky off which I missed being too lazy to get out of bed LOL, pack up, laugh heaps and listen to the hundreds of tractors ambling off, the usual warning of RBT in Imbil was heard but once again as usual no RBT was sighted.
Jeff, Bugs and myself headed for Kenilworth where Jeff then parted for the Obi Obi and home leaving Bugs and myself for a nice ride up to connondale then on to maleny, well Bugs faded in my mirrors coming into connondale and was soon found he had a flat rear tyre!!!
so I made a hurried run into Maleny for a tyre weld spray can repair thingy and found there was only one left in Maleny phewww, got back and soon had Bugs heading to maleny to top up the tyre pressure and get some fuel, then down thru old gympie rd and onto the highway and home.
