I'll be watching this one with great interest. I would also like to add the hard panniers to my bike in the near future. But, I don't like the look of the indicaters, the way they have to be spaced out on a bracket. I have seen somewhere, may be on a bike for sale a set that were recessed in the mould to incorporate the indicaters. They looked like the factory ones, color and shape as far as I could tell from the picture. I want something that suits the bike and doesn't make the bike look like it has a pack rack on it when the bags are off. The new FJR and the Sprint have a great set up.

Hi I have the sw motech quick release side racks, they use the stock indicators, so no big bike look, and no wingrack.

I have two friends visiting Australia now, probably could have sent you the panniers, have a buddy with a set of keyless for sale.
you can check out this stuff on twistedthrottle.com they have the setup and the panniers.

Hi all, I've searched high and low for good looking panniers that don't look like two boxes that are just thrown on the side of the bike. I found that "Corbin" have, what I think, are the best looking ones on the market. They're by no means cheap, coming in at about $2000, but they're perfectly moulded to the bike and are colour matched. They also wrap around the indicators. Here's the website... Corbin Motorcycle Seats & Accessories | Honda CBR 1100 XX | 800-538-7035
Hope that helps.

If your looking for Givi specifically, I got mine here: RL Motorcycles - Givi E52 Top Case Good customer service, and I like the quality. Does look like a big ole honkin box though, but lots of storage!

I have ordered a GIVI E470 from 4/70 Maroondah Hway Ringwood. I'm looking forward to getting it later this week. The light kit is extra, I ordered that too - I thought it was just tail lights not indicators but I will know for sure later this week I expect. I've also ordered the backrest.

I don't have exact prices to report. After I saw the GIVI I liked it and I didn't like any other hard case options I have seen yet.

Hey Birdman, when I got my e52 I also got the lighting package and the instructions kind of suck. I carefully cut the plastic for the lights, using a utility knife and also the contacts are little button type plugs that weren't connecting too well so I wrapped a "small" ziptie around it to hold it up on the monorack and now the light is bright and the contacts good.

One more thing, I wired the boxlights to the taillight (by accident) and I think it makes the bike much more visible. It's always on when the taillights on and when you use the brake, it makes almost a strobe effect between it and the brake light.Just my

Hey sixgun did you sort out what you wanted?

My Givi E470 looks great on my bike. With the back rest and light kit it came to $595 (Brians Bike Mart Ringwood). I haven't fitted the light kit yet (I will be taking careful note of Maxx409s suggestions).

I wish we could get GIVI helmets in australia but I don't think they meet our standards. The H40.1 has built in sunglasses that retract into the top of the helmet. Anyway I picked up a Blue Shoei Multitech with the GIVI which I'm pretty pleased with.

Well the more rear boxes I saw the smaller they seemed and I do seem to pack a lot of crap in the gearsack every time I go somewhere so I will stick with the gearsack (ventura) and save up for the corbin's.

Sounds reasonable enough. This is why it's good to ask questions on the internet - to weigh up all of the options. If there isn't something that really stands out then sometimes it is best to stick with what you have.

It's more about image with the hardcases. I do like the way my Ventura bag is big and expandable.

Cool.

I looked at Corbin but decided against them. Too small compared to Givi and they don't come off the bike. You can't get a helmet in them and they don't have a top box. Cool but I don't think as functional as necessary. My opinion.
