    This worked extremely well and saved me a lot of hassle thanks. Discovered My cable link had detached from clip when I had stuffed too much under seat .

    Put a cable tie loosely around the outer section of the release cable where it clips in. Then it will never happen again.

    more than one make and model of bike has had this exact problem.
