Best cell company?
I am heading to NZ and AU in March for about 6 weeks. I will be taking my unlocked 3G Android phone with me and plan on buying prepaid SIM cards so I can use it. I will only use the phone for emergencies and contacting other members of the group if needed (don't need Internet access). I was wondering if anybody from down under can advise me on which carrier to use. In NZ, we will be staying in the south island and in AU, we will be staying in the Sydney area and north along the coast. From what I can find it looks like the best options are:
NZ - 2degrees
AU - Savvytel
Anyone have better suggestions?
Thanks
Rod

CB,
I could use my Telus phone there but the cost is horrendous. I have found, when traveling in Europe, that getting a local, prepaid, SIM card for my phone is a better way to go.

Welcome to the age of SIM cards, CB. It's literally as simple as switching out the teeny little module (about the same size as a microSD card) to put your cell phone onto another network.
Eventually we are going to drag you into the 90's whether you like it or not.

Typical DPR, Dragged into the 90's. shows how backwards you are,
We are in the 21st Century Mate,
Our phones dont work in Japan, If thats any help.
Prepaid sounds like the way to go,
Google is your friend, Ask them,
If ya not boppin, Ya in ya coffin. Rock and roll will soothe your soul.
Mods, 6mm Shim, 12 inch risers, Double bubble Windsceen, Homemade Ventura type packrack, Expandable to 82 litre, Rjays rack bag, Lowered rear end frame by 3 inches. Suspension is still stock, home made Cans, awesome.
