I can't help either, my bike had one fitted when I bought it. Not sure if I'd like the look of a tinted one personally though....

    Re: headlight protector

I've never used one. The angle and the glass toughness of the Bird's headlight makes it nearly impossible to break, or even chip. I have ridden my 2 Birds for a total of about 160,000kms in all types of conditions, the bike even has decent size stone chips on the front fairing, but the headlight has remained like new. Funny enough it was the first thing the dealer tried to hard sell me, trying to scare me with the cost of a headlight replacement. When all I was interested in doing was changing the suspension and pipes as quickly as possible .

My opinion: a headlight protector detracts from the natural beauty of the bike, is a waste of money and has no real purpose .

    Re: headlight protector

    G'day Fellow aussie birdies.
I was following a ute with a load of aggragate and got a scratch in the headlight. so I bourght a headlight protector from amhp. I dont think it makes much of differance to the looks of the bike. I like the idea of less chance of a smashed light from road debris. one thing I have noticed though is that the cover is not as sharpley curved as the headlight, subsiquently the cover actualy touches the centre of the glass. Any one else noticed this?
    Take care
    Amos

    Re: headlight protector

I have one I bought from Jaws awhile back. I haven't installed it yet. I'm wondering about shite getting inbetween the space of the protector and the headlite. I've had no concerns in the last 171,500 kms but I'll install it anywhay.

Bit of a personnel choice i think,i prefer not to,what cruissy says, mines in great condition comes up brand new when polished up with meguires plasic cleaner polisher,do the screen as well takes out the hairline scratches, the tint will also fade the brightness a little not real good for night riding.

    Re: headlight protector

Just got one from Kenma.com.au it is from Ventura it fixes with with 4 velcro tabs and and has small nipple in the middle thats rests on headlight.
They retail for $45.00 I would'nt go with a tinted one.
